Why is it so hard to photograph your own children?  Our original plan was to take outdoor photos today, but it looked like it was going to rain and it was a little too chilly for the kids outside without jackets.  So I decided to try some indoor photos, I mean it worked pretty well when they were little, why wouldn’t it now? HA! Kaylee mildly cooperated, but Harper, let’s just say he isn’t big on getting his picture taken unless it’s of his foot (don’t ask me where he got that from). I have a few more to edit but thought I would go ahead and post these two so you can have an idea of what I was working with. haha!

Where did you come from?  I have been going around all week one day behind.  I seriously woke up this morning thinking today was Wednesday.  I don’t know how my days ended up getting turned all around, but they did.  So you can imagine my excitement when I finally figured out today was Thursday and we are one day closer to the weekend than I had originally thought!! YAY!

Today will be filled with schoolwork (blah!), crafting with the little ones and laundry.  I’m also thinking about redoing the blog or (gasp) moving it.  This little blog has made a few moves in it’s day and I’m thinking it’s time to do it again.

Earlier today I posted the two cute finds I found at our local thrift store so while the kids were napping I was able to get them painted the way I wanted and I love them! Here are the before and afters.

I know I’ve professed my love for thrift stores on here before, but let me just say it one more time.  I <3 thrift stores!  Today the kids and I needed to get out of the house and what better way to spend part of our morning than thrifting?  I think Kaylee loves it just as much as I do, she loves to look at all the stuff and tell me where she would put it in our house and she also loves to look at all the hats to see if there is anything she “needs” for her dress up collection.  I ended up not getting much of anything other than these two beauties but it was a fun time looking around.  I plan on painting both of them and will post some after shots when I get done.  I’m thinking bright pink for the deer and I’m not too sure yet for the Buddha.

Oh and check this kid out, first thing he did this morning once we came into the living room was run and get Kaylee’s DS so he could play Mario. If he isn’t trying to play Mario on the DS he’s begging me to put it on the Wii.  He is very concerned for the princesses safety and thinks that we need to save her right now or it’s gonna be bad. haha!

The red headed fox has been out in the field working like crazy trying to teach lieutenants how to do whatever it is that they do. He’s been getting up super early and getting home somewhere in the 8 to 11p.m. range. I’m not a complainer so don’t take this as me complaining, I’m just saying he has been working his booty off. He’s used to it and I’m used to him being gone, I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been through three year long deployments in the past seven years and numerous field trainings and schools. Anyways, I thought I would make him his favorite cupcakes (German chocolate) and added a fun little twist to them, mustaches!.  Because really, who doesn’t like mustaches?

So tonight when he drags in the house exhausted and ready for bed I will bring him his cupcakes and hopefully it will bring a smile to his face and he will know just how much I missed our daily talks during lunch and how much watching The Office without him tonight was not near as fun as it is when he is here.

You arrived awful fast didn’t you?  I’m not complaining though because this weekend was spent laying low at home just the kids and I.  Even though we didn’t get out and do much other than go to the grocery store we still had fun playing, watching movies and crafting.  Kaylee has come to the conclusion that for her birthday she NEEDS a sewing machine, I told her I would see what I could do. So, if you know of any good sewing machines for little kids let me know because we are in the market.

This week is going to be filled with schoolwork (although it is spring break, I guess I don’t HAVE to do any), crafting (of course!), laundry and going to get a new military id card.  Today is shaping up to be a very pretty day so I’m sure we will spend some much needed time outside burning off some energy.

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week, I’ve been under the weather and just recently started feeling better.  I’ve also been playing catchup on school work, house work and various other things.  Next week will be more eventful, I promise.

Back in January Leigh-Ann over at Freckled Nest posted a pin cushion swap.  Seeing as how at the time I had just rediscovered my sewing machine after being in storage for almost 3 years I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get it back out and start small.  So I entered and ended up being paired with Lisa over at Mint Jewels.  It was so much fun chatting with her and getting to know her!  The other day I received my pin cushion from her and she sent an extra little surprise, earrings!! I love them both so much!  Thank you Lisa!

Here are a few things I’ve been working on as well.  Some of these are for my sister Samantha, my sweet Happy Mail partner Gina and myself.
