I just wanted to take a moment to give you all a big Thank You for your comments, emails, thoughts and prayers this week for my family and I. It’s been a rough few months (who am I kidding, few years) for us as a family watching my grandmother fight ovarian cancer.  She is now in no more pain and that is the only thing that makes this somewhat bearable, so again Thank you.

This past weekend I flew back home for my grandmothers funeral and was amazed at how many people actually read this blog, I was asked many times to please put a few new snapshots of the little ones, so here you go.  I will have more to come, but here’s a few snapshots from this morning.

One thing you must know about Harper and have probably heard me mention it before is his love for dinosaurs.  He takes them everywhere with him, he takes them in the bath, he tucks them in bed with him at night, they go everywhere he goes.

Yesterday after Kaylee went to school and Harper and I settled back in I asked him what it was that he wanted to do, his reply was “Have fun Mom!” and then he said he wanted to go to “Dino Land”.  Dino Land translates into the pasture.  So off we went to Dino Land.  He lined everyone of his dinosaurs up and gave them a little pep talk and then played his little heart out.  I think he brought an elephant and giraffe along as well.  He had a blast running around and roaming the area with his dinosaurs.

Giving his dinos their “talk”.  I’m not exactly sure what it was that he was saying to them but I know it was serious and he meant business.  haha!

It’s been a tradition in our family since I was about 12 or so.  Every year we would anxiously wait all summer and then a few weeks before school would start my family would pack up and we would go spend a week at the beach.  It’s been a while since I participated in the yearly beach vacation (Kaylee was 2 months the last time) so I was pretty excited to be able to go this year.  Let me just say it did not dissapoint, I had forgotten how much I love just sitting on the beach listening to the waves.

K-Bug, Kaylee Cakes, K-dizzle & Short Stack, she answers to each and every one of them.  Tomorrow our sweet baby girl starts Pre-K.  Yeah I know, it’s just Pre-K it’s not kindergarten and it’s not even required, but to us it’s all the same.  She is starting school.  She will be riding the bus per her request, you can guarantee I will be following that bus all the way to school.  Thank goodness we are the last stop and it’s a small school, I don’t want to be known as that crazy mom who stalks the school bus.  She has also asked me to meet her at school to walk her to her class.  How grown up of her to want to meet me somewhere.  She is so thrilled to be starting school and I am excited for her but sad at the same time.  Our sweet little baby girl is growing up.  She’s no longer the little girl who needs me for everything, she is growing into her own independent little person and I am so excited to see what life has in store for her.

Oh and a fun little tidbit for you, the school she is starting is the same school my great grandpa went to, the school my grandma and great aunt went to, the school my mom went to and the school I went to, so there are quiet a few generations there that have all went to the same school.  We are very proud that she will be the 5th generation of this family to attend there.

Lately I’ve been feeling a little bad about posting so many of Kaylee and not of Harper so I thought I would throw this storyboard in, I’m having it printed as we speak so once the final product has arrived I’m sure I will post some photos of it, but for now here’s the digi image of it.

That little guy has my heart on lock down.  He is growing so fast that it’s hard for me to believe.  I know I’ve said this before but I wish they would stay this little for just a bit longer…….

These photos are LOOOONG over due.  I have been meaning to take Harper out just the two of us and get some but it just never happened……..that is until last week.  I loaded him up and went where every little boy wants to be, a huge hay field with plenty of running room and lots of places for dinosaurs to roam about.  He LOVED it.  He took those dinos everywhere and ran around just as happy as could be.

For now Harper is a mamma’s boy, but I have a feeling once the red headed fox gets back home that will all change.  Last week while getting him ready for bed we had this conversation:

Harper: Mamma, I miss daddy.

Me: I miss him too baby.

Harper: Mamma, daddy at work.

Me: Yes baby daddy’s at work.

Harper: Daddy’s at work fighting the Hulk.

Me: Daddy’s fighting the Hulk huh?

Harper: No mamma Daddy IS the Hulk, Daddy is a Superhero.

Now how am I supposed to compete with a Superhero?

I’m pretty sure I have a photo of the red headed fox making this same face….

This is one of my favorites, haha!

At first I was going to throw this one out because I didn’t like that the face wasn’t in full focus, but then I looked at it a little longer and I just love the face he’s making. It’s classic Harper and anyone who really knows him knows that this is all him. Love it!

Here are a few from a mini session I did with Kaylee last week.  My hands are full with this one, she had been asking me to take some photos of her to send to her daddy so that’s what we did.  She picked out her outfit and everything.

When I think about my life I always tend to think of it in chapters (I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this either).  Another chapter of my life has been closed and I am now moving on to the next, this one will be shorter than most but it’s still a chapter.  The little monsters ones and I have relocated to Central Texas for the next 4 months.  Why only 4 months?  In 4 months the red headed fox will be home.  In 4 months our family will be complete again.  In 4 months my babies will be able to kiss and hug their daddy goodnight after he reads them bedtime stories.  In 4 months I will have the love of my life back in my arms and I will feel like I can breathe.  In 4 short months this 3rd deployment will be over and all will feel right again.  What happens after he comes home is another question you may be asking, well we will be headed to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.  I admit I wasn’t thrilled at first but it was the only option they gave us that didn’t result in another deployment within a year or so and frankly I don’t want to go through this again so quickly, so El Paso here we come!
