I’m here!

September 25, 2009

I really am here, I promise!

Things have been going 90 to nothing these last couple of weeks and with under 30 days left in this deployment I feel like I will never get everything that needs to be done, done.

So please forgive me if things seem to be a little slow around here, it’ll pick up I promise.  On top of the million things I have to do I have a handful of sessions coming up and will blog them as soon as I get the chance.

For now, I leave you with my one and only or as everyone around here knows him, the red headed fox.  I can’t believe we are at the end of a very loooooong 15 months.  Looking back, the time has seemed to fly (that’s what raising 2 kids under the age of 5 will do for you!) and I am so thankful for that.  Soon our family will all be reunited and we will be starting a new chapter of our lives……

What My Clients Are Saying….

September 16, 2009

Sasha-

Thank you for all the TOTALLY AWESOME pictures that you took of Sammie and I! All the different varieties of poses made me feel like we were in a totally different world when I looked at them A.K.A. Modern Day American Gothic.  You truly captured Sammie and I’s love for each other within your lens. No other photographer could have done it better :)

Sasha Branam’s work is awesome!  Sasha focuses on catching the true personality of her subjects & her creative eye shines through in each photograph.  Not only are her prices reasonable & the availability of the final product timely, but her work ethic is priceless as she makes her subjects feel comfortable & is very attentive to her clients requests (even when it comes to shooting at ‘less than desirable  locations! ). Sasha is a professional in every sense of the word & I can’t say enough about our wonderful photo experience with her!

Fun to Work With, Amazing Eye, Wonderful Photos!

Sasha is a creative, fabulous photographer. She is friendly, light hearted, warm and fun to be with.  She is relaxed yet a true professional. She has an artistic eye for a great shot.  She recently took pictures of our 4 month old son and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. She was extremely patient with our little one which is oh so important.   It is obvious she loves what she does.  It shows in her work, which result in wonderful photos.  It would be tough to find anyone better.

Sweet & Sour

September 14, 2009

It’s been a while since I’ve done this one too!

The Sweets

  • Flowers for no reason.  The red headed fox sent me flowers this week with the sweetest message, completely made my week.
  • We are officially in the last month of this deployment!!  Our family will be reunited very soon and we can’t wait!
  • Harper.  Everything, well almost everything, about that kid is sweet.  He’s currently going through a cuddling phase with “big kiss, big hugs” every few minutes.  Love it.
  • All the work Kaylee brings home from school, we save it all and she is so proud of it.
  • Classic movies.  I love’em all.

The Sours

  • All this rain, I know it’s good for the crops and all, but it just makes me want to curl up and sleep all day.
  • My long list of things to do before the red headed fox gets home, the list is long and it feels like it’s never going to get done.
  • Last minute notice.  It doesn’t matter what it’s for.  I’m a planner, I like to have everything planned ahead of time and when I can’t do that it irks me a bit.  (I’m not perfect people! haha!)
  • My mom’s cat Midnight, every time I step foot outside she is trying to tackle my leg and she hangs on for dear life.  I am not a cat person and her claws are painful.

Lastly I will leave you with some photos of my beautiful flowers.  Happy Monday!

My monthly project….

September 11, 2009

For September was kid friendly photo frames.  I have so many project ideas but decided to keep it simple this month (and next too!) because we will be moving verrrrry soon!  The kids love having their own photos in their room so what better way to display them than with a frame that they love just as much.  This litterally took me 15 minutes to do both frames, talk about quick and easy!  The kids love them and can’t wait to hang them in their new rooms.

framesblog1framesblog2We have a pet turtle named Rico, Harper considers it his very own Dinosaur, so he now calls the turtle on his frame Rico too.  :)

The last thing I will leave you with is the stunning Adele.  I discovered her through the red headed fox.  Apparently the medic on the fox’s MiTT team is a HUGE fan of her and I can see why.  Chasing Pavements is my favorite song so far, but I’m loving everything I have heard from her.  You can view her Chasing Pavements video on YouTube by clicking here.

I’m thinking about doing a “Things I’m Loving” section possibly weekly or maybe even monthly so if you enjoyed this post let me know by leaving a comment!
