Sunday Secrets

February 28, 2010

I saw this on a few other blogs and thought it would be fun so here goes:

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I would be perfectly happy if all I ever ate again was Mexican food.

I had braces until the 10th grade.

I learned to drive when I was 12, my great grandpa taught me.

Oh how I love thee….

February 27, 2010

I recently blogged about 101 in 1001.  One of the things on my list was to buy my first set of nesting dolls. After much thought and looking around I decided on this beautiful set.  Yesterday they arrived and OH.MY.GOODNESS!  I am in love!  I’ve already started looking around for the next set I want.  I seriously think this is going to turn into an obsession.  A cute one at that!  IMG_1397What is your current obsession?

Book of {Love}

February 25, 2010

My great grandmothers brooch.  I just love this one, makes my heart smile.

BOL1blog

A miniature violin. This came from my great grandparents house and I love it because not only does it actually play music, it reminds me of all the times I sat in my grandparents living room listening to my great grandfather play his violin. I wish I had half the musical talent that he had.

I’ll leave you with this cute photo:

He was in a deep conversation with The Incredible Hulk about our ghost problem we have here in the house.  The hulk told him to go dark exploring so he can catch all the ghosts and get rid of them, so that’s what he and Kaylee have been doing a good part of the day, dark exploring.  I love the imagination little ones have.

In case you didn’t know….

googlereader

Is pretty awesome!  Why would I want Google reader you might ask, well the answer to that is easy.  With Google reader you can keep track of your favorite websites, share articles with your friends and you can read anywhere any time.

Before I discovered this little gem I would spend a ton of time going to and from my favorite blogs to see if there were any updates, now I spend so much less time because I automatically know if they’ve been updated or not thanks to my trusty Google reader.  I also love Google’s Gmail but that is a whole other post.  So if you don’t have Google reader go get it and subscribe to yours truly.  I’m thinking about having a give away for every 50 people who subscribe, so go do it and maybe you’ll be the lucky winner of something cool.

Weekend in Review

February 22, 2010

We had such a great weekend!  Friday was my birthday, however we didn’t really make any plans other than dinner and a movie here at the house after the kids went to bed.  The red headed fox surprised me with my favorite pie (turtle pie! YUM!) in place of a birthday cake. We had dinner, pie and watched a movie. It was a nice relaxing night and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday.

bday1

Saturday we had a few errands to run in the morning, went to lunch at Red Robin and did a little shopping. We spent Saturday night at our good friends house playing board games (next time I’m going to have to bring a camera because watching the fellas act out stuff on Pop 5 was hillllllarious!).  Sunday was such a beautiful day and we spent a good portion of the day outside.  We went to North Augusta/South Carolina and had a wonderful picnic at a peaceful park by the water. Kaylee became quiet the little bird watcher and all Harper cared about was eating all the cantaloupe.  After we finished up there we took the kids to a park here on post out by the lake to let them run off a little energy.  It was such a fun time and we can’t wait until our next picnic on Sunday!

Inspire Me Monday….

February 22, 2010

I’m thinking of starting this project with the little ones, I adore it and think they will too!

I’m also thinking of starting this project today during the little ones quiet time.  I want to make one for each and think it will be fun to mix and match the fabrics for each one. (I just adore Elsie’s blog!)

Thrift Love

February 20, 2010

Thrifting can be so much fun.  I love finding things that seem to tell a story (at least to me) and I also love redoing things that I find.  Here are a few of the items I came across yesterday at a local thrift store….

thriftfinds1

The first item is an adorable framed print of a little boy and girl.  I’m not so in love with the frame but the print, I will probably redo or reframe it and give it a cozy little home in our living room.  The second is a pink corked vase (for lack of better word at the moment) and I’m loving it.  It’s probably going to go in our bedroom since that’s the only place the red headed fox will allow me to decorate with pink. (haha!) The third is two vintage coffee cups, oh how I adore vintage coffee cups.  I’m starting to get quiet the collection, maybe one day I will show them all to you.

Since I only spent maybe fifteen minutes thrifting yesterday with the kids, I think I’m gonna go back today alone and see what I can find.  It’s really hard to look at things when you have two little ones ohhhing and ahhhing over everything they see.

Have a happy Saturday everyone!

Much Love,

sashasig
